Getting Involved

There are many ways individuals can get involved at Phoenix and make a difference in the life of a resident. Some of these may include the following;

Becoming a board member – Phoenix is governed by a volunteer board of directors. If you are interested in becoming a board member please contact the president of the board.

Youth worker – if you are interested in becoming a youth worker at Phoenix please click Employment to go to employment Opportunities Page.

Student Placement – Phoenix offers supervised learning opportunities to placement students from various colleges and universities who are required to complete field practicum experience in a custody/detention setting. Phoenix boasts of a staff roster made up of some former successful field placement students.

Becoming a volunteer – some types of volunteer positions are; spending one-to-one time with a resident either in house or in the community, recreation – participating in recreation programs with the resident group both onsite and in the community, tutoring – working with a resident on his academics after school, various job skills that may include teaching trades or cooking skills, life skills and arts & crafts.
