Les Whitney, Treasurer

Les Whitney grew up on a cattle ranch in British Columbia and has been in Ottawa since. He is now as a retired scientist, having worked with industry and universities to create innovation in space technologies. He was a founding member of Phoenix for Young Offenders in 1989, and led the Board’s transition in response to the Youth Criminal Justice Act. In the now Phoenix House for Youth he has served in all capacities on its Board. He is currently Treasurer and was previously Treasurer of March Montessori Schools and the Mississippi Valley Textile Museum.

Les involves himself in supporting youth development in many ways and concentrates on enhancing the pursuit of music in their lives.
